cold soups

Because of the distinct lack of classical music radio in St. Louis, these days I'm listening more and more to hip hop (don't judge) and public radio. In this recent radio recalibration process, I've come across the most wonderful broadcast: The Splendid Table ( This week, hostess Lynne Rossetto spoke with New York Times food columnist Melissa Clark about "blendid" soups. The idea is simple, yet brilliant. If you can make a smoothie, you can make a delicious, cold summer soup.
